Why Am I Still
Doing This for My Kid?

Free LIVE workshop + Replay available for 7 days
How loving parents get stuck doing too much—and how to stop carrying everything without feeling like you're abandoning your child.
Friday, August 21st
@ 12:00 pm EST
When your formerly ‘easy’ child starts pushing back…
stalling
ignoring you
resisting even simple things
needing reminders for every little thing
& suddenly it feels like you’re carrying the entire family...
You start wondering:
"What happened?" or even... "Am I losing them?"
But what if isn't defiance?
What if it's a sign they're ready for something different?
This FREE Workshop is for you if...

Together we'll uncover...
Why your child's pushback isn't actually the problem.
The 3 shifts that help your child start taking initiative, solving problems, and, following through without you needing to stay one step ahead.
Why you keep getting pulled into the same loop—reminding, overdoing, and guilt…while your child keeps waiting for you to pick up all the thinking.
How to stop the harmful cycle of always doing more...without loving them any less.
...and how to help your child finally step up.
Here's what starts to change when you stop carrying everything:

See Your Child Differently
Their pushback won’t feel like a personal attack.
You'll start asking:"What skill are they ready to learn?"
instead of "Are you serious?"
You'll leave calmer. Not because your child changed overnight, but because you'll finally understand what's underneath the struggle.

Stop Carrying It All
You're no longer reminding everyone...
thinking for everyone...
or solving every forgotten lunch or homework crisis.
Your child starts carrying their share.
You stop carrying everything.

Parent With More Confidence
No more guessing.
No more needless guilt.
No more second-guessing yourself at every hard moment.
You'll know when to support...
and when to let them experience the victory of figuring it out themselves.
Less resentment.
More shared ownership.
More laughter.
You're finally on the same team.

Meet your host, Alyssa!
If you've ever wondered..."Why am I still doing everything?"...you're in the right place.
I'm Alyssa Smith—parent coach, ADHD coach, educator, and mom of two girls navigating the beautifully messy school-age years (including one ADHDer).
For more than 17 years, I've helped children, parents, and teachers build confidence, independence, and stronger relationships—first in Montessori and international schools, and now through coaching families around the world.
Along the way, I've earned four degrees in education and psychology, trained in Positive Discipline, led professional learning for educators, and been recognized internationally for championing student agency.
But the lessons that shaped this work the MOST?
They didn’t happen in a classroom.
They happened on my kitchen floor. In the moments where parenting collided with grief, burnout, over-functioning, and rebuilding life as a single parent. That’s where I learned what so many thoughtful parents discover the hard way: Doing more for our kids doesn’t always help them grow. In fact, sometimes our helping, rescuing, and over-managing keeps them stuck—and leaves us carrying far more than we were ever meant to. Now, I help parents step out of the Over-Functioning Loop and into a way of parenting that builds confidence, initiative, and real follow-through—without everything falling on you. Less rescuing. More resilience. Fewer battles for control. More cooperation. No more carrying it all alone. And I’d love to show you, too. 💙
